Crocus

Homer mentions croci for its usage as a condiment and as a coloring plant. They prefer places where there are no other plants. Their narrow leaf is characteristic. In Greece, there are about 20 different (indigenous) species of crocus. Of course there is also cultivated crocus.

Collection: It is not found in Kythera very often, it grows in wild areas. Leaves, roots and flower stigmas in particular are collected.

Properties: Emmenagogue, abortifacient, diuretic, anticonvulsant, appetizing, tonic, aphrodisiac. It fights bronchial and pulmonary conditions.
